Danny Sheldon

Originally from Buckinghamshire, Danny received his MChem from the University of Oxford where he completed his final year project under the supervision of Prof. Andrew Weller. His project involved synthesising new organometallic rhodium complexes and investigating their role in solid/gas C–H activation of low molecular-weight hydrocarbons. In 2019 he made the move across the pond to Imperial College London, where he received a DTP scholarship to join the Crimmin group for his PhD. His project focuses on using main group compounds for the activation of environmentally detrimental fluorocarbons, and their conversion into pharmaceutically relevant products. Outside of work he enjoys playing football, watching his beloved Brighton and Hove Albion narrowly avoid relegation from the Premier League year on year, cycling around the country with his housemates, and of course: going to the pub.
